How Long Does Norco And Valium Show Up In Blood Test After Their Stopage?

Question: I stopped taking Norco 7.5 mg. and valium 5 mg. seven days ago. How long will it take to receive a negative urine test? I also need to have oral surgery for fibrous dysplasia of the face in one week and the surgeon has precribed me percocet 10 mg.. for after the surgery. How will that all affect drug testing? Would it be better to ask him to substitute the Norco instead? I need to attend a treatment center for a DUI alcohol in 2012 and swiftly entered AA and have been sober to-date. I was disabled in 1991 when, on the job, a full file folder fell forward toward me, I attempted to turn but the file cabinet struck me across the back at L5 S1 and has since been diagnosed with degenerative disk disease. I need to have a negative test for these medications. In addition, my physician had prescribed medical marijuana to eliminate other narcotics I had been taking, and it does work, but I stopped that approx. 2 1/2 weeks ago.I have since made an appt with a Chronic Pain Specialist to address the on-going back injury I need to be clear of all three for ot.pt tx-mandatory for the alcohol DUI I don't want to argue with them and get Marinol or permission for the Norco or valium. I just will do without for the 4 month week ly 1 hr. sessions, and begin seeing a Chronic Pain Management Specialist. Stopped using the medical marijuana approx. 2 1/2 weeks ago... Please help. Do I have the opportunity to ask follow-up questions without additional expense? Thank you in advance..

Brief Answer: Will not be detectable after 7 days. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for posting your query. The timetable for detecting norco or valium in the system is dependent upon each individual's metabolism, body mass, age, hydration level, physical activity, health conditions and other factors. Usually it remains detectable in Urine Test: 3-4 days; Blood Test: 24 hrs; Saliva Test: 1-4 days; Hair follicle drug test : up to 90 days. Since you stopped taking it 7 days ago you are likely to get a negative blood test. You can ask your dentist to prescribe you a non narcotic pain killer after the surgery. I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. There will be no additional charge for two follow up queries. Wishing you good health. Regards. Dr. Praveen Tayal.
