Brief Answer:
Hope you have a good health

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question. Hope I can be of help for you today. If you have HSV2 at the cervix causing an inflammation reaction it can affect the result of smear also. So you better treat HSV2 first and then do cervical smear for cervical cancer screening.

I hope that It can help you, and please let me know if you have any clarification or question about that, and I would be welcome to discuss it with you further. I hope you have good health.

Best regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General and Family Physician

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you again for your question. It can show the result not accurate with your cervix inflammation. HSV2 spontaneously heals if you do not treat it. If you already recover from HSV2 that means your cervix does not get any ulcer or inflammation so it will not affect the result of the smear.
Wish you and you have good health. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
false positive result

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you again for your question. Pap Smear is used to detect the abnormal tissue in the cervix. The abnormal tissue in the cervix that can develop to cervical cancer caused by Human papilloma virus (HPV) and it can be detected with the test VIA, Pap Smear, and DNA. When you have cervical inflammation we would like to treat the inflammation first before we do a VIA or Pap Smear or DNA test because of the false positive result. So your doctor is the one who decides whether to do a smear test or not depend on the examination.
Wish you and you have good health. Let me know if I can assist you further.

doctor
Answered by Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey (13 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
We can not say likely or unlikely. Its depends on your smear result.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you again for your question. For diagnosis of Herpes we can swab for PCR or culture but not smear. The people who have herpes the result of smear depend on the reaction of your cervix inflammation or not. If not inflammation your result of smear will be accurate. We can not say likely or unlikely it depends on your smear result. Sometimes it can say negative with inflammatory reactions. In this case you need to treat inflammation first then repeat smear again. If the result shows normal, you don't need to do anything further.
Wish you and you have good health. Let me know if I can assist you further.
