I am sorry you are having trouble with this. If the hemorrhoids recently started and are not severe, you can try an over the counter hemorrhoid topical treatment such as Preparation H.

If that does not work adequately and the problem is really getting to you, go in to see your regular doctor.

He or she may prescribe something stronger such as ointment or suppositories containing hydrocortisone (a steroid) and lidocaine (a numbing medicine used for dental work or shots).

This usually relieves pain quickly but shouldn't be used for more than a week because of risks to the tissues.

Hemorrhoids can be internal or external and are basically a varicose vein of the rectum. They can be treated topically but sometimes need surgery if really severe.

Burning from the anal/rectal area can also be from an anal tear after having a hard/large bowel movement, and these usually heal quickly on their own in a few days.

Burning can also be from irrigation from certain foods and spices and from wiping a lot.

For either, warm-hot sitz baths can help relieve discomfort and promote healing.

Also for either, you want to avoid straining, so if you have trouble pooping, gradually increase fiber in your diet (vegetables, fruits).

A boggy prostate usually means there is inflammation such as from bacterial prostatitis.

This doesn't have to be an STD which I note you don't have. What was your urologist's diagnosis of the cause of the urethral irritation and plan?

Hello,

If you have not had a return visit with this urologist and he doesn't know that you have had repeated episodes of urethritis (inflammation/irritation of the urethra), then I would go back to him and let him know.

There may be a low grade infection with a non-STG bacteria or virus.

Sometimes prostatic inflammation or irritation can cause pain or discomfort in the perineum, and I'm wondering if that's where your burning is on your bottom, but I am gathering, given you think it may be hemorrhoids, that the burning is in the anorectal area, not the perineum (between the anus and scrotum).

Sometimes hot sit baths are enough but if the symptoms keep re-occurring, it is time to go back in or to a different urologist. If you go to a different urologist, be sure to get your records of lab tests from the previous one.
