Question: Hi, can you suggest what this thing is over my left tonsil? I am being referred to an ENT and I am very scared. All online search forums show scary results.

1. Non smoker, non drinker
2. No pain, no swelling on the node.
3. This released some pus when I pushed it with a swab.
4. Pain in my jaws since yesterday while chewing food (not swallowing)
5. This is pink mass with cream/ white tip.
6. Shape - like a bean.
7. In blood test CBC - WBC is slightly elevated (10.3)

Thanks a lot!

Brief Answer:
some keratosis or infected follicles due to tonsillitis in the left tonsil

Detailed Answer:
Hii. Welcome to the Ask A Doctor service.

It seems that there is some keratosis or infected follicles due to tonsillitis in the left tonsil. As pus is coming after pressing it, so start an antibiotic tab augmentin 1 gm twice daily x 1 week. Start tab levocetrizine 5 mg at bedtime x 2 week. Do betadine gargle alternate with warm saline gargle thrice daily. Continue this for 2 week. Review an Ent surgeon after 2 week. If it still persists then you may need to undergo tonsillectomy and send it for biopsy. But as if now, it looks like keratosis. Keratosis can reappear again in future. so no need to worry. Please review after 2 week and follow the above advice.
