Question: Hi Doctor,
My wife is not feeling well since last 1 week, she is having slight fever and body pains (mainly muscle pain).
On taking combiflam tablet, the fever and body pain is going away but once the effect of the tablet is over, she is again starting to feel feverish and body pains.
She has been taking combiflam as and when needed but the condition is not getting better completely. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
It can be a viral fever.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
The symptoms are consistent with an episode of viral fever. It will last for four to five days and the patient feel fatigue and body ache for few more days.
As of now drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. She can take combiflam in case of fever and pain.
We can wait few more days and the symptoms will probably settle soon.
If symptoms persists additional investigations may be required.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks

Hello Doctor,

Thank you for your quick response.

Its been now almost 8-9 days since I am not feeling well and having these symptoms . I am feeling feverish and having body pains.
Just to let you know there is no cough or any other problem.

On taking Combiflam I am getting relief but again i get feverish and body pains once its effect is over.
Please advise what next steps should i take, should i keep on taking combiflam and wait for few more days or this needs some further investigations.

Do you prescribe any other medications apart from combiflam for now?

Brief Answer:
You can wait few more days.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Viral fever can last seven to twelve days.
As you have no other signs of respiratory tract or other focus of infection, there is no role for anti or other drugs.
As of now continue Combiflam and no other drugs are required. Make sure to drink plenty of water.
If symptoms persists other possibilities like dengue or urinary tract infections must be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Basic blood Investigations has to be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Unfortunately this platform does not provide telephone options.
The rashes can be a sign of allergic reaction unrelated to the fever.
As the condition is not improving I suggest you to go to consult a physician and do basic blood work, uthne routine and dengue antigen test.
Thanks
