Question: Hi Doctor,

Me and my wife are planing for a baby and before that, my wife had done a pre check as per the report seems few of the values are not within the range, and looking for your help and guide on required supplements and your further guide.

I believe following few details might help:

Age of my wife: 28
H: 5ft 3 inch
W: 70 KG
We got blessed with our 1st daughter on 1st Sept 2012.

Did not had any plan in between. Didn't use birth control related items.

Not sure, How to add the report. So, as of now, sharing the following link, of my google link.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

You have to contact the customer service to add reports to this query as I cannot open the link which is not active here.

From the description you have given, your wife is overweight. The secondary infertility as your problem is called, can arise due to several factors like tubal blockage, hormone dysfunction, infection and also the altered male factor.

To comment further, I need to see the reports.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

regards,
Shanti.V.

Detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

I have gone through the attached reports. This is my observation:
1. The hemogram shows slightly lower hemoglobin levels and this is seen in the lowered MCH.

2. There is deficiency of Vitamin D. This can be corrected through supplemental therapy.

3. There is elevated TSH level and this is suggestive of subclinical hypothyroidism. This can be corrected through hormone supplementation.

4. There is lower LDL level which is not to be worried about.

5. The uric acid levels are lower.

Apart from these, a sonogram of the pelvis preferably in the trans-vaginal route is needed. Also, tubal patency is another factor to be checked. Urinalysis is needed to exclude infection and swabs of the cervix and vagina to look for any infection.

Further management can be planned after a complete evaluation.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing again.

I have gone through your query and here are my answers:

1. Haematinics help in correction of hemoglobin level along with good diet.

2. Vitamin D supplements used over three months as a course help to correct the deficiency.

3. Supplement of thyroxine sodium in the needed dose after proper evaluation.

4. Lower uric acid should be further evaluated using uric acid clearance. It is commonly seen in vegans who consume lower quantity of purines. Correction is through diet and supplements.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need anything else.

regards,
Shanti.V.
