Question: Hello I recently had intercourse with a trans individual but there was no actual penetration only oral exchanges and I’m wondering what are the chances of contracting STI’s such as HIV/AIDS the individual seemed like a clean person and there was no exchange of fluids from either party and I just want to know if there was any significant risk of contracting something thank you

Brief Answer:
ORAL SEX AND STDs

Detailed Answer:
Hi...
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor"service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

Oral sex is equally capable of spreading STDs and HIV.

This is a misnomer that oral sex is safer than vaginal or anal sex.
You can get herpes, gonorrhea and syphilis very easily.

if you had a cut (or micro cut) inside the oral cavity, the virus can get direct access to the body circulation and you can even get HIV,Hepatitis B,Hepatitis C,viral warts and chlamydia infection.

A person with veneral disease may be asymptomatic and apparently normal (as in your case) as viruses can lie dormant in the body for months and even years.

Please see your clinician for further evaluation and management.

Hope that I have answered your query.
Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards
