Question: Hello, I had the Cabbage two years ago, I was just about to have a heart attack then. Since then I have not been feeling well. Just no energy. Tired and weak a lot. sleeping way too much, Since then I have noticed my pulse is in the low 50's and high 40's. I was in the high 60's-70's before. I noticed the change when I had to go back into the hospital for a heart XXXXXXX and was on the monitor. what can I do? Would I qualify for a pacemaker? I just had my first heart attack this past week, and wonder if my low pulse could be increasing my chance for another.

Brief Answer:
Need further evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome.
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
I can understand that you had a CABG done 2 years ago and you are currently experiencing a low pulse rate.
This needs further evaluation. I need to see the ECG to see what is the rhythm.
Some drugs can also cause low heart rate (like beta blocker and Calcium channel blocker), but I didn't see them on the list of your medications.
Another very important thing I didn't see in your medications was Aspirin and Statin. These are very important medicine post any Coronary intervention. Kindly please clarify which Cardiac medication are you currently on.
Pacemaker has certain indications, that can only be ascertained after seeing your ECG as you already have giddiness.
Thanks and regards

giddiness, what is that? I am only on ASA 350a day no Cardiac meds. When in the hospital I was told I had an abnormal EKG, that showed heart damage that why I had another Heart XXXXXXX everything was OK in that department. What an ECG?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Giddiness is the feeling of about to get fainted. ECG is another name for EKG.
What we are interested here is the conducting system of your heart means the electrical supply of the heart. The normal pacemaker in the heart generates electricity so that the heart could pump. There are conditions when this pacemaker is not working properly which causes low heart rate and giddiness. In this case a artificial pacemaker is required to generate the electrical impulse.
As your Cardiac XXXXXXX is normal (which is expected), I want to see your EKG(ECG) with low heart rate so that any conduction system abnormality can be picked and to decide whether you need any further evaluation.
So kindly send your EKG.

Thanks and regards
