Question: Hello Dr. XXXXXXX
I had a myomectomy in Dec 2022 and till now I have missed my period. I only have constant spotting. I did a post-myomectomy hormone test and ultrasound, and I was told that my ovaries and uterus are fine but I need to treat PCOS which is the cause of the delayed menstruation. I was given fertilady medication to take for 3 months.

I have taken it for 1 month now, yet no period. Just spotting still. Sometimes, I also release clots of blood like menstrual period but it doesn't flow.

I have used gynaecosid tablets 2 times in the past, and it worked. Is it ideal to use it again, does it enhance my ovulation or it just stimulates my period?

Before the myomectomy, my period was irregular, but this is the longest I have missed. And I am not overweight
What do I do please?

Brief Answer:
Hysteroscopy needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi Nello,
I understand your concerns about delayed Menstruation after Myomectomy.

Another cause of scanty flow you mentioned may be due to intrauterine adhesions after Myomectomy for which second look Hysteroscopy is Advisable.

Gynaecosid tablets is hormonal medication and may not be much helpful. Please consult your Gynecologist for ultrasound scan assessment.

Discuss second look Hysteroscopy with your surgeon.

Let me know if you need anymore help.

Regards
