Question: Hello Dr. Kakkar,

6 months ago i had surgical excision of hidradenitis suppurativa in my left groin and then it started healing after taking also combination antibiotic clyndimicin and rifampicin...the antibiotics i took for 3 months and in week ill stop them....but there are two small wounds from the stitches that are not 100% closing which im not sure why...is it because of chronic inflammation under skin? i used repavar spray which helped a bit but not those small wounds.
can you recommend me a special cream to heal such chronic wound situation?
i am attaching photos of before and recent. thank you.

Brief Answer:
Regarding hidradenitis suppurativa

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service.
I have reviewed your query.

You may try slvergen cream, twice daily. It contains human epidermal growth factor (along with silver sulphadiazine and chlorhexidine) which helps skin regeneration and is helpful for chronic wounds or sores.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Brief Answer:
Regarding hidradenitis suppurativa

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
It would not help the disease process itself but it would help wound healing once the disease becomes inactive or along with specific therapy. Infact no cream would by itself control hidradenitis suppurativa. Disease activity requires specific measures like oral antibiotics, oral retinoids, biologicals like adalimumab, surgery etc.
take care
