Double Vision In Left Eye After Falling Unconscious. CT Scan Normal. Reason?
Question: last week i fell down unconcious and am having double vision since then in my left eye . Ct scan is OK. What can be reason?

Loss of consciousness and double vision indicate a problem with brain functions. The most likely reason could be a lacunar infarct (small blood clot) of brain stem. Since the nerves for eye movements begin in the brain stem (mid brain part), any lack of blood supply there could lead to diplopia. In addition, other symptoms could include dizziness, imbalance while walking, etc.
CT scan may be normal as the resolution is not very good with it. On the other hand, MRI scan of the brain may show the disease.
