Question: Does painful urination sometimes occur after a colonoscopy procedure? It it anything to worry about or does it go away promptly?

The only way colonoscopy can affect urinating is by prostate swelling. This glad is localized in a close neighborhood of rectum and it might happen that after colonoscopy it gets swelled. But it should produce symptoms like hard urinating or unable of urinating.
Painful urination is mostly caused by urinary tract stones. It can go away by itself but it doesnt have to. You should have urine analysis and proper treatment ordered. Antibiotics might be necessary.
