Does Intake Of Anti-depressant Help In Treating Severe Tinnitus And Hyperacusis?

Question: I have severe tinnitus, hyperacusis, depression and anxiety. Could an anti depressant help? What about botox? Helpful or harmful to tinnitus? Thanks.

Tinnitus can indeed be improved with antidepressants. The most studied and best antidepressant classes for tinnitus are SSRIs and TCAs. The SSRIs have much fewer side effects. I would suggest starting with either escitalopram or sertraline. These would likely help you.
