Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern I would explain that palpitations are probably caused by lack of sleep.

Grapefruit juice is not known to cause palpitations, but it can interact with many drugs by reducing their effects ( it is an enzimatic inducer in the liver). Are you taking any bĂȘte blockers? Only in that case palpitations could be related to any possible interaction.

If palpitations persist, I would recommend performing:

- a resting ECG
- an ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring
- blood electrolytes
- complete blood count
- thyroid hormone levels to exclude other possible causes.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
