Does Blockage In Carotid Can Decrease The Blood Supply To The Brain?

Question: In response to your email I wanted you to know I was quite satisfied with your answer. Unfortunetly my husband is still ill and they suspect it could be heart related and not from Black Mold. It just all started with a virus.
I do have another question however. My husband had a stroke in 199 due to a blood clot in his leg and has recovered extremely well. His BP is under control as is Lipids, all labs are normal and very good on the cholesterol. Could a blockage in his carotid also cut off O2 to his brain causing fatigue?
He did have an unexplained heart rate of 131 one day at the Drs office with a BP of about 100/70. Any input you have will be appreciated and thank you very much.

Brief Answer:
May be tiny infarcts. Fast heart may be investigat

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I appreciate your concern for your husband.
Narrowing of the carotid artery especially if it is bilateral can decrease the blood supply to the brain. This can reduce his cognitive functions by producing tiny areas of no blood supply (lacunar infarcts ). If he has an MRI of the brain, that would reveal the same.
If you have a digital BP apparatus, you can measure the heart rate and BP regularly.
If he has very fast heart rate regularly, it should be investigated.
Best wishes,
