Does Wellbutrin Interact With Citalopram?

Question: Hello, I have been taking Wellbutrin 150 XL for several years and my Dr. prescribed Citalopram HBR 10mg today to go along with the Wellbutrin. I have really been struggling with fatigue during the day and was wondering if I should take both of them before I go to bed?

I have gone through your question and I can understand your concern .

Fatigue is one of the side effects of Citalopram, until your body gets used to with the medication , usually the fatigue will go away (usually within 2 weeks )

You can take the Citalopram at night but not at the same time with Wellbutrin due to possible major interactions that these 2 drugs have with each other. You can take the Wellbutrin in the morning to decrease the chances of interaction.

It would be good to inform your treating doctor with this change so she can monitor/supervise you during this course.
