Does TURP Affect Male Fertility?
Question: I had a TURP two years ago. Can i still get a woman pregnant?

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone surgery of TURP two years back and desire to impregnate your wife

1) Do you ejaculate semen during intercourse ?
Retrograde ejaculation is a common complication of TURP due to resection of bladder neck which leads to backward flow of semen into bladder .In such a situation one can not ejaculate semen in to vagina hence there is no possibility of pregnancy by normal means .
Since there is normal spermatogenesis (Production of sperms) by testicles pregnancy can be effected with the help of reproductive technique of IVF by collecting sperms from urine immediately after intercourse or sperms being aspirated from the testicles .

Some fluid (a few drops)comes out when i ejaculate but i notice what appears to be sperm when i pee afterwards. I am unmarried and DONT want to risk a pregnancy.
