Brief Answer:
Regestrone may not be effective in delaying the periods now.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, Hi
Welcome to HCM.

I appreciate your concern for the efficacy of Regestrone while having light spotting of the period.

To postpone or to delay the period, Regestrone should be taken 3 days before the expected date of the period and to be continued as long as you wish to delay the period. The bleeding will start within 7 days after stopping the medicine.

Now, sine you are already started to have light spotting of the period, taking Regestrone may not be useful in delaying the period.

It now becomes difficult to predict how the periods will behave from here on.
However, I suggest you to take the tablets twice daily 10 mg for 2 days.
If the bleeding stops with this in a day or two then continue them for another 3 days. Regestrone will help to delay periods for a week or so.

If after the first two days of the tablets, the bleeding does not stop, discontinue them as it is not likely to stop and so let the periods flow.

Hope to have answered your query.

Best regards.

When I said spotting I meant the brown discharge and not periods bleeding as such.

Brief Answer:
You may take Regestrone on 7th September

Detailed Answer:

Dear XXXXX, Hi
Welcome back.
Thanks for your information.

Since your period is expected on September 10th you may start taking tablet Regestron from September 7th on wards as long as you wish to delay your period.

The brownish discharge could be due to some sort of vaginal infection which needs to be treated after consulting a gynecologist.

Hope to have answered your query.
