Brief Answer:
See below!!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks for this query.

1. HSV1 is pretty common. My colleagues from XXXXXXX have reported to see this often in their consultation offices.

2. Main precaution is to avoid contact with the site of the lesion or linen and objects soiled by it. Washing hands rigorously and staying away from persons with active lesions is a great way to go.

3. HSV1 is not classified as an STD. HSV2 is that which is classified as an STD.

I hope this addresses your questions. I wish you well and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
Avoiding any contacts with active lesions!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The precautions needed are only during delivery avoiding that the baby gets in contact with the active sores. If there are any present along the birth canal during delivery, the doctors would likely resort to surgery. This is to prevent the vccild form coming down with herpes encephalitis.

I hope this helps I wish you well. Let me know if you have any more worries.
