Brief Answer:
Garcinia cambogia has no documented interaction with Epilium, use caution

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. The medicine Garcinia cambogia contains hydroxycitiric acid and is recommended for weight loss in many people.

2. Studies have shown it to be safe when taken for 12 weeks or less. There is no information on longer use of this medicine.

3. There is no documented interaction between Epilium (sodium valproate) and Garcinia cambogia therefore I cannot say that it is completely safe for you.

4. Please note that taking Epilium will cause weight gain as its side effect.

5. In conclusion, Garcinia cambogia is possibly safe for you when taken for less than 12 weeks. However taking Epilium will cause weight gain and the desired weight loss might not occur. You can take Garcinia cambogia for a short time and watch closely for any side effects like nausea or headache. If you have side effects then please stop it immediately.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
It is insulin related mechanism and psychological causes like binge eating

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. Research studies have been done in adults like you who are on treatment with Epilium which contains sodium valproate.

2. It is seen that treatment with sodium valproate has been found to increase post-prandial insulin and proinsulin levels. Therefore adults treated with sodium valproate who develop obesity have been found to have higher levels of serum insulin and leptin compared with those who do not gain weight.

3. Sodium valproate also increases physical activity, hunger, binge eating, depression leading to increased food intake.

These are some of the mechanisms and research is going on.

Hope your query is answered.
