Do Cushman Fumes Cause Lung Problems And Cough?

default
Posted on Mon, 1 Dec 2014
Question: I work in an office next to where they store and charge and old Cushman, battery operated. When we plug in the Cushman I can smell it charging. Now I have developed a lung problem and cough. My doctor says my lungs look as if I work around chemicals. Could the Cushman fumes and my medical issues be related?

Brief Answer:
hello dear.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I don't think cushman fumes cause much damage.
So don't worry about it.
Consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray and Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) to find the diagnosis.
If both of these are normal than you may be having upper respiratory tract infection only.
So no need to worry much about cushman fume exposure. Get done chest x ray and PFT and start the treatment.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
