Can Cold Sores Be Triggered By Edible Medical Marijuana Consumption?

Question: Last week I found out that I have a cold sore. I never had it before and I know for sure that I got it for the first time last week. Two days after that I start taking Aciclovir 400 mg 3 times a day and using Abreva. The cold sore did not developed much just a little red bump on top of my upper lip with a little bit of liquid inside but it's really tiny but I also have many many tiny tiny white bumps on my upper and lower lip more on upper lip. Also I see some white bumps on my gums. I know I should not drink beer or hard liquor but I'd like to know if I can drink "Angry Orchard Hard Cider" and also if I can smoke or eat edible medical marijuana? Also doctor said that I should take Aciclovir for 5 days but since I have more pills can I continue taking them for at least 5 more days since the sores are still there?

Hi Sir,

I understand your concern.

You seem to have incomplete response to acyclovir.

I advise you to go for tab Acyclovir 400 mg one tab 5 times a day for 5-7 days. Please take it under the supervision and prescription of your doctor.

No way you should consume edible medical marijuana ,or hard cider.

This stuff can lead to exacerbation of sores.

Sores will take more time to heal almost 3-4 weeks.
