Can Anal Sex With A Vibrator Cause Hernia?

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Jan 2017
Question: Can anal sex with a vibrator cause a hernia. No perforation discovered in colon from CT scan. Pain in lower left abdomen continues especially after bowel movement. Bi-Lateral inguinal hernias were discovered and fixed. Pain continues. Where do I go next. Could I have an internal hernia at the sigmoidrecto junction that has not been seen?

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

What you are reporting (especially the pain) may be a side effect of anal sex (even when you use only vibrator), due to rectal mucosa damage.

The abdominal ct scan is important to exclude life threatening situations like perforation or bowel obstruction. However it can't detect rectal mucosa rupture and damage.

The rectal mucosa is damaged and may be the cause of pain, or lower abdominal discomfort. This is why it's important to perform colonoscopy for a proper evaluation of rectal mucosa damage.

Meanwhile I would recommend to avoid any anal related sexual activity.

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!

I did have a colonoscopy done and it came back clean. Once again. Pain in the lower left side below and to the left if belly button. Procedures that have been done are CT scan at emergency room. All blood and urine tests were fine. Colonoscopy and bi-lateral laproscopy inguinal hernia surgery. Pain persists especially after bowel movement. How do i proceed. Any other tests? What damage may have occurred that has not been diagnoised .

Hi back and sorry for my late,
Thank you for providing more if your medical data.
You are reporting to have done colonoscopy and it was clean and normal.
It exclude mucosal damage of rectum.
Since colonoscopy was normal than your symptoms my be related with IBS ( irritable bowel syndrome).
You can try antispasmodic drugs like dicylomine.

Hope it was helpful to you!

Thank you. My pain occurred the next day after my anal activity and after a bowel movement. It has been ongoing for six months. Worse after a movment. I rarely have the pain when laying down in bed so my pain is positional. (Worse when sitting, less with standing. Is it possible that I have an internal hernia of the sigmoid junction or other hernia that my CT scan did pick up? I have never had IBS and it is odd that this oocurs imnediately after my stupid activity with my girlfriend. Please help. e

Hi back,

I would like to ask you if Ct scan is performed before or after laparoscopic surgery?
If the Ct scan is performed before laparoscopic hernia repair than you need to do another CT scan with double contrast (IV and oral).
Yes I agree with you that it's bit strange that IBS starts immediately after anal sex.
Hope it was helpful to you.

The CT was oerformed before with double contrast. Is an internal hernia possible? Is it possibly a nerve problem? A perferation would have killed me by now .
