Can Sertraline And Tramadol Be Taken Together?

Question: Sertraline and tramadol interactions for 94 male..just started 100 mg sertraline and were given Tram 50 mg as prescribed..noticed some "shakiness" at night..

Probably due to sertaline.

Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
The most probable possibility in your case scenario is the dose if sertaline. 100 mg a day dose of sertaline is high in such a old person. In case you have suddenly increased the dose this is the most probable reason for the shakiness or tremors he is getting.
Another possible reason could be aggravation of his baseline problem for which the drugs are being given. Actually sertaline reacts with Tramadol and reduces it's effect. So he might be feeling pain for the reason of reduce effect of Tramadol
I would advice you to discuss the issue with your primary doctor as he knows his basic state and requirement for the drug. He will adjust the medicines accordingly.
