Question: My 11 years daughter is being prescribed to take rivotril .5 mg 1/2
Oilmelt 2.5 mg1/2 regularly for her mental agony panic disorder and OCD. Is it safe ?

Obsessive compulsive disorder is a psychiatric disorder and can be managed by cognitive behavioural therapy and medication.
In cognitive behavioural therapy, exposure and response prevention is helpful.
Drugs like clomipramine, fluoxetine, sertraline, escitalopram may be tried.
Role of olimelt and develex is for mania.
Yes it is safe in children in adequate dosage.
Look for any side effects and consult treating doctor.
Be in constant touch with your psychiatrist as long therapy and constant monitoring is required. Increase in drugs may be required depending upon response.
