Question: Throwing up acid past 2 morning.
Took pantoprazole tonight. Can i take pepcid with it

Hello and welcome,

I'm sorry your are having trouble. These two medications are from different classes of acid reducers: Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor, and Pepcid is an H2 blocker. You can combine these two medications without adverse drug interactions. However, they both have the same ultimate result of reducing stomach acid, and so combining them will compound this. I would not recommend combining the two for more than a few days. I think you should consult with your doctor as it is not normal to throw up for reasons other than a brief stomach flu (gastroenteritis).
