Can Lisinopril For High BP Cause Chills?

default
Posted on Tue, 2 Jan 2024
Question: my blood pressure went up suddenly for no reason. I took my BP and it was a little high so I took my Lisinopril and drinking water . I started shaking and cant stop. Its as if I am freezing. I have ovarian cancer and my blood pressure has been going up and down alot lately. What can I do. Trying to calm myself.
I have had High blood pressure for the last two years. It was discovered the same time I found out I had cancer. I am taking HCTZ daily and Lisinopril as needed. My potassium was very low last time I went to ER. They took me off HCTZ and gave me potassium. But that caused problems so I went back on hctz.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to an electrolyte imbalance (possible low or high potassium levels).

An infection cannot be excluded either.

Have you measured your body temperature? Shaking and freezing are common signs of fever.

Coming to this point, considering your symptoms, I would recommend going to the ER for a physical exam and some tests:

- a resting ECG
- complete blood count
- CRP, ESR for inflammation
- blood electrolytes for possible electrolyte imbalance.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
