Brief Answer:
Yo should contact him; but also pls seek medical help ma'am

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Yes, I do agree that contacting this male and informing him about what happened will be important, as you could quite possibly have contracted the infection through the sexual activity; but please also let me know how long after the sexual activity did you notice the first symptom?

But more important right now, is for you to seek medical attention. Urinary tract infections with Klebsiella pneumoniae are quite resistant to many antibiotics, which makes treatment a little more complicated.

I have noticed that you have tried diflucan, which you must know by now will not help you at all. I am also hoping that you went forward with a urine culture and sensitivity urine examination, which is how you were informed about the infection-causing organism (i.e. Klebsiella pneumoniae). Please use the same result, to discuss with your doctor to best antibiotic that can be used to help treat and rid you of the infection. The culture and sensitivity result provides us with very helpful information.

Let me also list some of the most commonly used antibiotics to treat UTI's with Klebsiella pneumoniae:

+Ciprofloxacin
+Ceftriaxone
+Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole
and a few others which are more commonly used in the injectable form.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications ma'am, I am always here to help you and guide you to better health.

Best wishes.

My symptoms started 1 1/2 to 2 days after sexual contact. A nurse practitioner thought it could be yeast infection,, she prescribed Diflucan,, which caused a severe allergic reaction,, and certainly didn't help. Just this morning my urine sample diagnosis came through,, [Klebsiella Pneumoniae],, thank you so much for your response,,

Brief Answer:
Always here to help, pls do start on the antibiotics soon :)

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

I am glad you went for the urine examination. Please also speak to a doctor who can also go through the urine report and prescribe you antibiotics to immediately begin treatment. The only reason I am emphasising on doing this is because UTIs with Klebsiella pneumoniae are sometimes really trying to treat, and doctors do get frustrated at times.

My priority is your good health, and so I am concentrating more on getting you health. Secondarily, you should speak to your male friend and also urge him to get tested.

Please do not ever hesitate to write to me for anything ma'am, I am always here to help. :)

Best wishes.
