Posted on Mon, 23 Mar 2015
Question: Sir I have some doubts about HIV
1. My self had spent 3 to 4 hrs with an escorts services women on 10 Dec 2014. The following activities had been performed
Oral activity by her by using condom by me.
Fingering by me in her vagina (without gloves).
Kissing and sucking nipples.
However, no intercourse done.
2. Though she said she has no medical problem I am worried.
3. Recently I had fever, body pain, headache, dizziness, last week. But now ok by taking Amoxycillin, Antihistamine and Analgesic. But now I am having metalic taste in mouth as well as some unwanted sounds in stomach (earlier i took metronidazole and rebeprazole) and fatigue also.
4. I would like to know is there any possibility of HIV infection? shall I prefer a test? if so when to do the test and what kind of test will bring exact results
Please help me to clear my doubts!

Brief Answer:
Least possibility of HIV transmission.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
Welcome to health care magic.
I have gone through the details and can make out your anxiety.

The activities performed like oral sex, sucking nipples, are not risk for transmission of HIV. So you can allay fears of HIV.Fingering also is not a risk for HIV .If there is ulcer or open wound in your hand then there is slight risk.Otherwise no risk.

The symptoms are non specific and can be due to respiratory contact with any person. It is not related to HIV.Continue the same treatment as per your doctor's advice.
The metallic taste is probably due to drug intake likely metronidazole.
I do not see need for testing as the person is also disease free.
You can go for HIV antibodies testing after 3 months to relieve your anxiety.

You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you

Sir thanks for the precious reply.

The doctor told me about URTI and hence he had given me the medication. Why i am worried is that this is the first time I involved in such activity!!! I never been into any sexual intercourse with third party. I would like to know the 3 months period to be calculated from the date of exposure (10 Dec 2014). If so 10 Mar will be the cut of date to undergo test???

With Regards
