Brief Answer:
can only be used twice daily

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Flecainide can only be used twice daily.

This medication has a long half life of 12 to 27 hours. The half life is the time it takes for the medication in the system to decrease by half, it affects the time a drug can be totally eliminated from the body. If used more frequently that it is suppose , it would therefore accumulate.

The levels in the blood do not reach a steady state until day 3 or 4 of the current dosing, this is the reason that the dose is not altered until a person has used it for 3 to 4 days.
It is only after this time period that the optimal effect of the current dose is felt, after this time, and the effect is insufficient then the doctor and patient can consider altering the dose.

Summary: based on the characteristics of the drug it can only be taken twice daily and the dose is altered only every 3 to 4 days if it is thought necessary after review by your doctor

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
