Question: hi is ciprofloaxin and zithromax taken together good to treat pid? that is what my doc prescribed for pid, i would like a second opinion

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us once again.

Combined therapy with Ciprofloxacin and Zithromax can be started initially to treat PID. Most treatment is done for Chlamydia and gonococcal infection. Doxycycline may be added in some cases.

Treatment should be started empirically. However, antibiotic therapy should be modified depending on culture and sensitivity report when it is available.
