Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Can you please tell me the blood pressure medication name and dosage?

If the medication is in the family of "ACE inhibitors", they can cause a cough and it might not go away without a change to a different class of blood pressure lowering medication.

Your heart racing is not good, and you may need either a different class of medication for your blood pressure, or a lower dose.

Could you please provide the following:
1. Name of medication
2. Doseage
3. When you started it
4. Can you check your pulse (and blood pressure if possible) and let me know what these are?
5. Are your symptoms of heart racing worse after you stand up or have been standing for awhile, versus when you are sitting or laying down?

Detailed Answer:
Candesartan is in the family of ACE inhibitors that I mentioned can cause a chronic cough. Perhaps at the lower dose it wasn't enough to cause a cough for you.

I am concerned about the racing heart (pulse should be less than 100) and other symptoms. I recommend that you call your doctor to report these symptoms now. You may need either a lower dose in combination with another blood pressure medication or an entirely different medication altogether.
