default
Posted on Thu, 27 Sep 2012
Question: Hello. Yesterday I noticed that there was blood in my urine. It comes at the end of urination with a lot of pain. It also gets worse as the day progresses; there was no blood this morning, but there is quite a bit now.

Hi,

Thanks for your query.
Features are suggestive of urinary tract infection.
You need to give a sample of urine for analysis and culture/sensitivity.
Till the results arrive, u can start on empirical antibiotics after consulting your physician.
Once results are available, antibiotics need to be changed if necessary.
In addition, plenty of oral fluids, cranberry juice will help ease pain.
This is a treatable condition and there is nothing to worry.

Hope i have answered your query, kindly get back for doubts , if any
Regards
Dr GS
