Are There Any Cardiovascular Problems That Could Arise Using TRT For 10-15 Weeks? Any Irreversible Effects?

Question: An anti aging clinician wants to put me on TRT, 200 mg/wk, along with Arimidex and Tamoxifen. I’m 30/198 lbs/5'10", with a history of controlled T2DM.

Are there any cardiovascular problems that could arise using TRT for 10-15 weeks? Any irreversible effects?

Are there any long term side effects of Arimidex/Anastrozole and Nolvadex/Tamoxifien? The anti-aging clinic wants me to "cycle off" the testosterone around 4 months from now. Will my previous levels return to normal? Will there be any lasting side effects?

Does the dose of testosterone matter? Should I start at 125 mg/week, before jumping to 200 mg/wk?

I take care of my diabetes (A1c was 5.9% last time it was checked), but I definitely have diabetes! I lift weights three times a week, run 4 to 8 miles every other day, eat whole foods with low carb and zero sugar. I take multivitamins, check my fasting glucose and blood pressure every day.

My general practitioner put me on 1000 mg metformin and 5 mg lisinopril every day, and it helps tremendously to check my blood sugar levels stable. The problem is that I cannot lose weight around my midsection. I have had my serum testosterone checked three times:

November 2014 = 334 ng/dL
September 2017 = 447 ng/dL
July 2018 = 359 ng/dL

Brief Answer:
The normal testosterone level in males is 270-1070 nt/dl.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Testosterone replacement therapy is indicated in males with low T level.Your levels are near the lower limit of the range but all your results are within the range.

There are no side effects for a cycle of 4 months testosterone therapy.

Don t worry! There are no cardiovascular problems, lasting effects or irreversible effects from 10-15 weeks TRT.

The doses of Testosterone of course is very important and it is decided by your treating doctor, accordingly to your test results.

My advice is to follow your doctor instructions for the dosage and the type of TRT that is more appropriate for you (gel, injections, patch).

Some studies show that myalgia and arthralgia or arthritis are the most common long-lasting side effects.

Your actual HbA1C result is perfect. That's excellent.
It is evident that your healthy diet, physical activities and of course your metformin are the right choice to maintain the good control of your Diabetes.

It is very difficult to lose weight in the midsection for all the people, not only for you.
The abdominal circumference is an important factor for cardiovascular diseases in the future.

It is necessary to do specific exercises for the belly fat. I suggest discussing with a physical trainer specialist for specific workout programs for your abdominal circumference.

Take care.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Myalgia and arthralgia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.

The most common side effects of aromataze inhibitors (Anastazole and letrozaxole belong to this drug class) are gastrointestinal, urogenital ,trombembolic side effects and visual disturbances.

About long term treatement,i can say that these drugs can produce musculo-sceletal problems(myalgia &arthralgia) and potential sexual disfunction.

Anyway the side effects are specific for every patients.

For this reason,i suggest to discuss with your treating doctor about every new symptom you have during the therapy with an aromataze inhibitor drug.

Hope this is helpful.
Best regards.
