Question: I have swollen glands after oral sex. I lasted 3 days. does that mean I may have an std?

I presume swollen glands as lymph node swellings in neck.It can occur due to any infection in the oral cavity or throat.It can be due to respiratory contact with any person.
It need not be STDs .
Other symptoms, duration of swelling, time interval between oral sex and swelling, partner history is not clear.

To be safe i want to take 100 mg of docycyline bid for 7 days..... Any harm? If it was an std would there be any other symptoms?

You can take doxycycline course. There is no harm. It would be better if you get examined by doctor and then take. It may be simple respiratory viral infection too.

The symptoms would be ulcers or tiny vesicles (water filled lesions )with pain or itching.
