Question: I sincerly ask you to look carefuly at these pics and tell me if its anything serious like OHl, oral hairy leukoplaika?
Im so scared since its common in people with hiv.
I had a protected exposure 8 months ago but ever since i have 8 hiv test including 3 DUO, all were taken place in london and NHS funded clinics.

Brief Answer:
Normal appearance of tongue and cheek. Not OHL.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Your tongue and the insides of the cheek are normal in appearance.

2. This is not Oral Hairy Leukoplakia (OHL).

3. There are the normal tongue papillae (taste buds). The white marks in the cheek are tongue bites (Morsicatio buccarum). These are normal and require no treatment.

4. There is no cause for worry.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
The appearance of the tongue is within normal limits.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. No, there is nothing wrong with your tongue.

2. The whitish layer on the border of the tongue is common and related to the white marks on the inside of the cheeks. This may represent a mild glossitis due to trauma while chewing and requires no treatment. Multivitamins can be taken.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
