Are Joint Pain In Hand, Cold Foot And Upper Thigh Pain Symptoms Of Rheumatoid Arthritis?

default
Posted on Tue, 7 Jun 2016
Question: My Dr ordered a blood test that says I have rheumatoid arthritis. The only joint that consistantly hurts is my right hand--I can't make a tight fist without pain. My right foot is often very cold, although the skin is warm. After sitting in a chair for 15 to 20 minutes I have upper thigh pain when I stand up--both back and front muscles hurt. Is allthis connected to arthritis?

Brief Answer:
No I do not think both are connected

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Just a blood test is not sufficient to say you have rheumatoid arthritis. Patient with Rheumatoid have multiple joint involvement with morning stiffness and various deformities.Rheumatoid is a disease of young age and starts usually before 40.
So I do not think you have Rheumatoid arthritis if you do not have multiple joint pain.
Most probably you are having weak bones due to osteoporosis and neuropathy. Which are due to lack of calcium and B 12 deficiency. As you already taking Brufen I would recommend you to follow these steps.
1.Hot water fomentation for cold feet.
2.Volitran gel local application.
3.Tablet calcium 1000 mg daily and vitamin D 60000 unit per week.
4.Tablet Methylcobal 1000 mcg daily for three months.
Your symptoms will improve with these medications.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
