Question: Hi Doctor,
I am going to gym regularly and do moderate lifting of dumbness XXXXXXX - 20lbs. Also I use the exercise to do triceps which is pushing down with 85 lbs weight on a TRICEPS DIP machine.

From last 2 days I ma having a pain or a tender to touch spot on my dominant hand (right) attaching the picture of the pain location.

I am worried if it is a lucile issue or it is some bone or there is tennis elbow. I am not sure as the pain is not on the elbow bone either it is radiating so I am not sure if it is tennis elbow.

I am icing the tender area and not exercising or lifting or doing any strenuous activity last two days.

I have some shoulder discomfort as well which I am icing.

Could you please look into it?

Brief Answer:
Could be Tennis / Golfers elbow as explained below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
The area you have marked , if it is located on outer side of elbow ,then it is the area corresponding to tennis elbow , on inner side it would be Golfer's Elbow. The diagnosis also confirms with gym exercises being done by you.
I would suggest no gym( for use of hand exercises only- back and legs exercises can continue) for 3-4 weeks till the pain has totally subsided ,followed by weight training and start gym after 3-4 months . Take mild pain killers hot fomentation , and local application of analgesic cream.
Only way to confirm the diagnosis would be MRI.
Thanx for the question. Please free to ask any other question.

you mean i should not do weights for 3 to 4 months ? Till then do back or legs and may be cardio?

Do you need me to do MRI ?
I am icing the area, you recommend hot? and I will apply the creams lightly.

Thanks for the answer doctor.
Is there any stretches or anything i need to do for my right hand ? or should I just leave it to heal.

Brief Answer:
Yes to first part, MRI later and Hot fomentation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
In my opinion you can do all other exercises where you are not putting strain in your right hand. MRI I do normally , only if the patient is not improving.
I do recommend hot fomentation to all my patients.
Thanx

Brief Answer:
No stretches or exercises at present.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
No stretches or exercises for (R) hand at present. Please follow the treatment advised earlier.Allow it to heal first.
Thanks
