Are Facial Rashes Indicative Of Contact Dermatitis?

default
Posted on Wed, 13 Dec 2023
Question: I developed a rash on face, a bit around ear lobes - it looks like tiny blisters, doesn't hurt, itch. It is just there and I have attempted to find out what could have caused this problem - I have never had skin problems before, so I thought perhaps this is contact dermatitis? What can I do to make this go away...

Brief Answer:

Apply Hydrocortisone 1% cream

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The symptoms you are experiencing may be due to eczema/dermatitis.

However, your symptoms are not typical as eczema is usually associated with itching.

You can continue the skin wash and Clinique moisturizing cream. Please see if the cortisone cream you have is not expired. If expired don't use that. Instead, apply Hydrocortisone 1% ointment and keep the area clean.

The blisters will likely subside in 2 to 3 days. If it is persistent or you develop itching, irritation, fever or flu-like symptoms follow up with your primary care provider.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
