Question: Wow, this is pretty neat.
I was looking up the side effects of Amiloride/ hctz
I have a terrible problem of literally weeping water out of my large pores. I usually blame in on high humidity but now am wondering if it might have something to do with the medication or any of the other medications. Thank you.

I also take the following medications:
Enbrel
Folic Acid
Citalopram
Tramodal
Primary health issue is Rheumatoid Arthritis

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Edema

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns.

You are concerned about your medication as the cause of lower leg edema. Yes for sure the edema and weeping fluid is due to the amlodipine. You need to stop the medication immediately. Please contact your medical provider and have them stop your medication and start on something else. The edema is due to the capillaries in your legs dilating and causing the swelling and fluid build up. No additional water pills are going to help. The only treatment is to stop the amlodipine. If your doctor just recommend adding a water pill do not do that. Your swelling is directly related to the amlodipine and additional water pills will not help.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions

Thank you for your prompt reply. I apologize but I must have given you the wrong impression. The moisture (water) is coming out of pores in my face and my scalp and not my legs. My legs do not appear swollen at all. It seems like condensation if that makes any sense. It is not sweat and does not affect my underarms.

Brief Answer:
Facial pore weeping

Detailed Answer:
The amlodipine may still be part of the answer to the weeping. The amlodipine causes increased water retention and edema. This edema or increased body fluid maybe manifesting as the facial and scalp weeping. I would still recommend holding the amlodipine to see if that stops the problem. If it does then get your medication changed
