Persistent or severe coughing can lead to vomiting. The pressure from the coughing or the associated nasal inflammation would cause the bleeding.
If he is asthmatic then he needs to use his reliever inhalor and evaluated if there is no improvement.
If there is no asthma then you should consider an over the counter cough suppressant.
If there's nasal congestion then decongestant would help
