Hello and welcome to HCM, Polycystic ovaries mean presence of number of immature cysts in ovaries. Normally in an ovarian cycle multiple cysts develop, one matures and ruptures to release mature ovum. In polycystic ovaries, none of the cysts matures and there is no ovulation.
