Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m a 20 y.o. College student and last night went out drinking with friends. By the time I was back home I was quite sobered up, then randomly about an hour later had extremely painful stabbing feelings in my lower left pelvic and pubic (the pain here is hard to describe) area which lasted until I was able to go to sleep. This morning I woke up shaky, weak and in a cold sweat which lasted about 20 minutes. I had a bowel movement more than once yesterday. I realize drinking could be a factor as could possible constipation or other issues in the colon region, but I have concern for my ovaries. I am on Sprintec birth control and was last sexually active about a week ago. The pain today is dull - I took an anti-inflammatory this morning and now it may possibly be wearing off because the pain is getting stronger. Today I am supposed to start menstruation; have not yet but this is normal for me. Just wondering if there would be any urgency for me to see a doctor?
I forgot to add I never have menstrual cramps and have issues with constipation but it's never been anything that induced so much pain. However, there has been some churning/"gurgling"
