Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The sudden appearance of swelling in the finger without any history of injury is likely to be due to an inflammation of the joint. It can be RA, SLE, Arthritis or Gout. Consult a rheumatologist for proper diagnosis.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
