Irregular Bowel Movement, Heavy Stomach. Treatment?

Hi Doctors, I need immediate relief from irregular bowel movement? Is there any way to get rid of heavy stomach due to unusual bowel movement? I have a habit of not enjoying breakfast and lunch (except for liquids - Milk, Green Tea, hot Chocolate) and for dinner i have eat 2-3 chapati + little of Rice - and curry (could be veg /non-veg) I am 34 years old and I have had this problem since long and want a permanent fix. Hi Chandra, Welcome to HCM.

Irregular Bowel Syndrome can be corrected to a large extent by modifying your eating habits. In your case, i observe that you do not enjoy breakfast, lunch while you prefer consuming dinner. A good diet includes a balanced meal at the right amount at the right intervals which will help regulating the digestive system. Ensure, you intake a major part of your meal during your breakfast and lunch. Always, your breakfast should be complete and filling, and the lunch should be a balanced meal with some dhals, vegetables, curds and fruits. When it comes to dinner, its better to have a light dinner, preferably just chapatis and no rice for the night. Ensure you have your dinner 2 hours before you hit the bed. Please do not skip breakfast and ensure you eat a combination of some good cereals, milk and vegetables. Your digestive system should be active during the days and should be at a little rest during the nights. When this happens, you can regulare the same and you will see improvement in the functioning of your bowel system. Continue this for a week and if situation still persists, you can write back to me.
