On 1mg Ativan For Treating Cancer. Planning To Get Off This Medicine. Switching To Klonopin 1mg Advisable?
Hi I am on 1 mg ativan for a little over a year now. My cancer dr prescribed them because of my cancer and having three of my siblings die within one year. I want to get off of them. My husband takes klonopin i mg, he said they would be better for me because they would stay in my system longer and could wean myself off of them easier. He is bi-polar and has been on these for years. What do you think of his suggestion?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Ativan ( lorazepam) Klonopin ( clonazepam ) as these both drugs belong to same group and anxiolytics and develops sedation . Both drugs are habit forming drugs and develops addiction. So you are a cancer patient , in my opinion this drug don't cure cancer in any way , rather suppress symptoms. So as you are not a psychiatrist patient so don't take it. Consult one more oncologist and take treatment according to need. Good luck. Dr. HET
