Will Pain In The Wrist Due To Myomectomy Heal By Itself?

Hi. I had a myomectomy 3 weeks ago. There is a pain on my left wrist (The IV was on the left). I have a painful and raised vein on my wrist. From what I have read on the intrnet, it could be Phlebitis. Is this going to correct itself, or do I need to go to the doctor? If so, Do I go to the OBGYN, or to my primary care physician?

Hello,

It is nothing but phlebitis( inflammation of the veins). Nothing much to worry as it is quite common after IV line insertion and blood draw.

As a first-line management, you can apply over the counter available heparin creams (thromophobe is a popular brand) for symptomatic relief. Nothing much to worry and it will settle in few days.

OBGYN has nothing to do with it and you can consult a physician if symptoms persist.
