I have been taking lymescycline for 3 months and think i may be pregnant but only 3 weeks so too early to test but I am showing the same early signs as my previous pregnancies. I have stopped the pills just enscase but I am concerned about the effects it will have already had.

Hi,
Lymecycline belongs to the tetracyclines group of drugs and is teratogenic, i.e., can cause discoloration of teeth and shorten growth of teeth and bones. Usage during the first twelve weeks of pregnancy, however, has not been shown to raise the incidence of major birth defects. Since you have stopped using the medication, please do not worry, you are on the safer side. Please get a proper evaluation by a specialist and get a trans-vaginal sonogram to confirm the pregnancy. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
