Will C Diff Infection Spread Through Air?

We want to take care of our elderly mother in our home.

She is now in the hospital recovering from the c-diff infection that she acquired there after receiving antibiotics.

Are we at rish of acquirring the infection from her?

Is our dog at risk of this also.

Is a dangerous idea to bring our mother in our home for care?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Transmission of this infection is a risk but this risk can be controlled. Neither yourself or your family members would necessarily become infected if you take appropriate measures.

This means washing hands (1) before and after taking care of your mother
(2)after any contact with patient's environment
(3)before and after the preparation of food
(4)after the use of the bathroom
(5)after contact with any contaminated fluids

I hope this helps
