Will Amoxycilin 500 Mg Effect My Pregnancy?

Hi. i am 18 weeks pregnant and have severe cold and cough and throat infection for 5 days now. Doctor has put me on Amoxycilin 500 mg for 5 days. The course is ending today but my cough is still there. Does cough and / or the medicine harm the baby in any way ? Should I continue taking Amoxycilin ?

It seems like you have viral infection.

Amoxycillin which you have taken is not going to harm your baby.

There is no need to continue Amoxycillin.

Since you have no fever discuss with your doctor and just take some cough suppressant and antihistamine for a week. In all probability by then you will be fine.

If that doesn't help you may need a throat swab culture sensitivity and treatment accordingly.
The cough doesn't harm your baby directly. But it can disturb your sleep and make you tired.
